About Me

About Me
I am a qualified psychological counselor and therapist, with a master's degree in counseling (MC) from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. After obtaining my U.S. certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC), I received further training in areas including cognitive-behavioral therapy, stress and anxiety management, crisis intervention, couples counseling, and career and life planning. I am also a U.S. Board Certified Coach (BCC) with specialized training in personal and career coaching.
After becoming a therapist I worked for a number of years in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, dividing my time between college counseling, teaching, and my private therapy practice. I taught college psychology courses as well as counseling courses including "Career Exploration" and "Women in Transition." Later I had a private practice in Beirut, Lebanon, where I also worked as an international school counselor. Several years ago I briefly returned to academic life and taught psychology at a U.S. university.

I established my practice in Berlin, Germany, in 2005, where I specialize in working with people who are coping with life transitions and the challenges that come with change. I also have a special interest in working with expatriates, a natural fit for me given my own background as an expat. I am originally from California but by the time I graduated from high school I had lived on five continents. As an adult I have continued to travel, at various times working in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Along with providing counseling and coaching services I also do business consulting, workshops, and occasional speaking engagements. In Berlin I have given talks at the American, British and Canadian embassies, the Berlin International Women’s Club, and the American Women’s Club of Berlin.
Before becoming a counselor I worked in the health and business fields. I am also a professional writer, and my writing has appeared in magazines and literary journals in the U.S., U.K., Europe and Africa.
